Q. My generator battery is flat.
A. If the generator Autostart is on, the battery can drain within 1-2 weeks. In this case a trickle charger is necessary to keep battery topped up. For a temporary fix, start the generator via the pull cord and the the battery should charge.
If the battery is very flat a trickle charger or manual generator start may not bring it up, in which case you should charge with a 5amp + charger. If the battery is suspected as faulty, contact the generator manufacturer for help.
If urgent, disconnect the battery and take it to a store such as Battery Works for testing and possible replacement. (Note: for some generator suppliers the battery is not a warranty item).
