Last week we had the privilege of joining Alsahwa Estate and Mayor Rosanna Natoli for a landmark morning on the Sunshine Coast: the launch of the region’s first council‑approved incinerator toilet installed on commercial grounds, powered by the OFFGRID NOW® solar trailer.

This project marks a meaningful step toward more sustainable, resilient onsite sanitation. Incinerator toilets eliminate the need for water in waste disposal and reduce human waste to sterile ash, removing the challenges of septic tanks, sewer connections and wastewater management. When paired with renewable power, these systems significantly lower the carbon footprint associated with traditional sanitation infrastructure. This is an important consideration for businesses and properties aiming to reduce environmental impact while maintaining high standards of hygiene and convenience.
OFFGRID NOW® was proud to supply the solar trailer that provided the clean energy needed to run the incinerator system during the launch. The demo showcased how modern renewable technology and smart sanitation solutions can work together to deliver reliable, off‑grid facilities without compromising performance or public health compliance. Our trailer enabled a fully self‑contained, low‑emission setup that can be replicated at remote sites, events, and commercial properties looking for sustainable alternatives to mains sewerage.

Alsahwa Estate is leading an incredible example through their focus on regenerative practices and community engagement on their property. It was inspiring to witness their commitment to practical sustainability and to celebrate a solution that aligns with their values.

Congratulations to the Alsahwa team and everyone involved in making this milestone possible. We look forward to helping more sites use clean energy to operate responsibly, independently, and with a smaller footprint.
