When asked what initially drew him to investing in solar and battery storage, Lynford's answer was to save on electricity bills.
Before installing the system, their household electricity bills were quite high. With the opportunity to generate and store their own power, investing in solar and batteries made sense as a way to reduce those ongoing costs.
Lynford first heard about OFFGRID NOW® after meeting Mark, the company's CEO, in person. At the time, he was already considering installing a solar and battery system, so the conversation came at just the right moment.

For Lynford and his wife, maintaining the convenience of their home was important. They weren't looking to cut back on their electricity use or make major changes to the way they lived. They simply wanted a system that could keep up with their household's energy demands.
Today, their home is powered by an OFFGRID NOW® Forza 24 LV system, backed by an impressive 51.2kWh of battery storage.
From everyday household essentials to larger appliances, the system comfortably supports their home, including:

It's a substantial list of appliances, but Lynford says they haven't needed to make any major adjustments since having the system installed.
They continue to use all the same appliances they did before, enjoying the comfort and convenience of their home without having to think too much about their energy consumption.
For Lynford, that's been one of the biggest positives. Having a solar and battery system hasn't meant compromising on the way they live. It simply provided another way to power their home.
Reliable Power, Day After Day
With the solar panels installed on the roof and the battery cabinet positioned around the side of the house near the garage, the system has become a seamless part of their property.
Now, 11 months into ownership, Lynford says the system has been great and reliable.
Like any solar-powered household, weather conditions can influence how much energy is generated throughout the day. On particularly rainy days, when there is significant cloud cover, Lynford and his wife use the electricity grid as a backup.
This provides an additional level of flexibility, particularly during periods when solar generation is lower.
Having that backup available means they can continue enjoying the comforts of home, even when the weather isn't ideal.

Support When You Need It
A reliable system is important, but knowing that support is available when needed can make just as much difference.
When asked about his experience with OFFGRID NOW®'s customer support, Lynford was happy with the service he had received.
He says the support has been great, although he hasn't needed to use it very much.
That's always encouraging to hear. While ongoing support is an important part of what we offer at OFFGRID NOW®, it's equally rewarding to know that customers are getting on with everyday life without needing to worry about their system.
Was It Worth the Investment?
For Lynford and his wife, the decision to invest in solar and battery storage came down to the long-term financial benefits.
With electricity bills previously being quite high, reducing those ongoing expenses was a major motivation behind the purchase.
Lynford estimates it will take around four to five years to recover the initial cost of their system. While solar and battery storage is a significant upfront investment, he believes the savings over time will make it worthwhile.
And when you consider the size of their home and the number of appliances they run, being able to support their everyday energy needs while reducing their reliance on purchased electricity is a positive outcome.
